Fiber ropes – a new stage in the development of cranes

Ropes have been used for lifting and moving loads for many centuries. Even during the construction of the Egyptian pyramids, strong ropes were used to transport stone blocks. Since then, several thousand years have passed, not only the lifting mechanisms have changed, but also the ropes themselves. At first, ropes were woven from fibers of plant or animal origin, but now steel ropes are usually used in construction cranes. However, in the West, a number of companies are conducting research on the creation of fiber ropes for cranes, and they have achieved some success.

Wolff cran 1250 B

Wolff’s top-of-the-line luffing crane, the Wolff 1250B US, is working on a high-rise project in New York City. The crane features a maximum load capacity of 60 metric tons and a maximum jib radius of 80 meters.

Big WOLFF on a big stage: WOLFFKRAN makes its largest crane, the WOLFF 1250 B, accessible to a wide audience for the first time at bauma 2019. The leader wolf in the pack is a true champion because it can lift up to 60 tons in the standard version. Since its market launch in 2009, the largest WOLFF in the 1500 mt class has proven itself on many construction sites around the world where high load capacities are required.

POTAIN MCT 205 J10 (NEW)

New crane, what can I say about the MCT 205 crane, the advantage of this crane is that it is free to stand at 59.4 m high and 65 m boom. The crane is assembled in China, the quality is good, but technically it works as MС 235 but it has not been modified in a modern way - a trolley on a boom, the drive works without a frequency Converter, the old VAC developed in teristor blocks remains. There are only 2 speeds on the cart. it is very inconvenient that the first speed works with the brake machine, and the second without, well, it is not convenient. The turn is also without a frequency Converter, only left the motor with one brake. So let's say we saved!!! Only the cargo winch remains with the KEB frequency Converter.

Liebherr 357 HC-L 24/12

The third-generation 357 HC-L 12/24 Litronic crane with a controlled lifting mechanism was first presented in 2013. The advantage of the model is that the boom of the 357 HC-L crane is set to a minimum position of 87°, which allows it to be used on the narrowest construction sites, for example, it is an excellent option for working with a large concentration of tower cranes in a limited space.

Potain MR 295 J20

The Potain MR 295 H20

tower crane is used for the construction of high-rise buildings with a small cross-section. The arrow can rise to an angle of 86 degrees. The possibility of building up by telescoping to a height of over 300 meters. The connection of the tower sections with the fingers. Various bases according to the client’s request: anchors, chassis, “cross”. Disassembled mast sections (optional), which reduces the amount of transport. Optima mechanisms that significantly increase the performance of Potain MR cranes.

Liebherr 150 EC-B 8

The Liebherr 150 EC-B 8 is a tower crane with a slewing tower and a boom. Mounted on a monolithic foundation, support frame or running frame (rail track).

EC-B series tower cranes are economical to transport, quick and easy installation. The headless design gives an advantage when working together with other cranes and works near the airport. The maximum possible spacing of 60 m is the Liebherr 150 EC-B 8 is mounted on a support frame, on a monolithic foundation or on a running frame (on a rail). For the crane, towers 120 HC, 185 HC, 256 HC,  HC 290 are used.
Joysticks modern and convenient management solution

Potain MDT 269 J12 crane with Crane Control System

With certified and reliable components and innovative design, the CCS system allows Potain MDT 269 J12 cranes to hold a new bar in the production of tower cranes. The CCS system continuously monitors and tracks all crane movements and structural loads in real time thanks to an excellent network of redundant sensors. It only takes 15 minutes to set the configuration, calibrate the crane motion sensors, set the trolley limit switch, and set the boom length. After that, the tap will automatically get information about the stop points. It may take more than three hours for cranes that are not equipped with the CCS system to be properly set up and set up.

Since 2016, an updated line of Potain MDT series tower cranes, which everyone has loved, has been launched at Manitowoc factories. A feature of these cranes is to equip the latest Crane Control System (CCS). This option has a positive effect on the performance of the series models, speeds up and simplifies commissioning, and also improves operational safety.

I note that the joysticks on these cranes are modern and convenient for work

Tower crane Potain MRH 125 J8

The MRH - 125 crane differs from other tower cranes in that this crane has a hydraulic boom system compared to MR cranes. The operation of the crane requires increased maintenance of the hydraulic system, replacement of filters and checking the level of oil. The crane is suitable for work in a limited area of work.
The perfect crane for confined areas
  • Almost vertical luffing jib for minimum space requirement when working
  • Weathervaning radius optimized for each jib length, just 10 m for the 50 m jib, ideal for congested jobsites
  • Option to fit the cab on the left-or right-hand side of the jib according to jobsite needs and especially to allow installation of the crane as close to the building as possible.
The fastest fitting of a luffing jib crane
  • One single counter-jib/jib foot package bringing together all of the connected hydraulic functions. No inter-jobsite dismantling/fitting, compact and transportable in one package
  • No installation of luffing rope thanks to an innovative hydraulic system: save fitting time compared to traditional luffing system and increased safety
New technologies
  • The Topless design with several elements making up the slewing crane part reduce the standard size and weight to make transport, handling, and fitting easier
  • The VVH hydraulic system allows complete hoisting of the jib in two minutes
Optimized transport
  • Only 4 containers or 4 trucks for transportation of the whole slewing crane part with a 50 m jib

Optimized return on investment
  • Luffing jib crane adapted to very tight urban jobsites
  • Economical transport, easy and adapted to the fitting sequences
  • Fitting/dismantling time reduced through a design combining the Topless concept with hydraulic luffing technology
  • Improved fitting safety
  • Mast section fleet management optimized through reuse of mast sections type K 1.6 m and 2 m
